I was asked to create a space for a baby boy so that when he came home from the hospital his room would already be telling him a story of where he came from and who he was. This space was designed to be soft, where design elements and principles are set in place to make for a functional and pleasing room. Every little detail was strategically placed so when questions like “What’s that?” arose, the answer would be simple. The “whys” would open a door to the past and a story could be told.
The color palette is easy on the eyes and so are the lines of the space. Notice the four poster crib. In a space with a 12+ foot ceiling, something needs to be reaching for the sky or that ceiling line would be lost.
Feel free to take in the nostalgic feeling this space was designed to evoke!
