Show of hands: who loves bling? It’s always a good idea to make your lifestyle a little more festive with accessories that stand out. If you’re looking ways to “pop” your work space, you’ve come to the right place. While, I may not be an experienced blogger or an interior designer, all my friends will tell you that I am the Queen of Bling.
Over the last three years, my work space at L. Ruth Interior
Design has frequently changed. One cannot possibly stare at the same area with
the same décor for too long. You have to switch it up! I want to share with you
a few of my favorite things that inspire me to stay sassy.
First, we have a desk plate. This is something that always
sparks a conversation. I can’t possibly think of a better life motto.
Next, you can easily give your simple items a makeover with
jewels. Who doesn’t love bedazzling? All materials can be purchased at Hobby
Lastly, we have personalized stationary. It is
vital that your boss and all other employees know who is in charge. These make
a great gift for friends too. However, you will need to make sure that you do
not personalize with “Queen” if they are not running the empire.
If all else fails, buy some glitter and throw it in the air. Basic is boring.
Hiring an interior designer can be an event of uncertainty. Maybe it’s because of the cost or maybe you aren’t sure what you want. However, there are many ways hiring an interior designer will be beneficial to you in completing a project. In this post, I am going to go over some of the key reasons why it would be important to hire an interior designer.
First and foremost, interior designers help save you time and money. They can help you avoid costly mistakes while designing your home and understand how to work with a budget. Designers know how to get the most value out of what you want to spend – how to get the best for your buck. Our goal is for you, our clients, to be excited about the design process and make it an experience worth your while.
Secondly, designers want to help you turn your house into home that fits your family’s needs and lifestyle. Interior designers aim to design your house to flow in a way that makes sense to you. After all, you want to live in a space that provides comfort and happiness. Designers are specially trained to create both functional and beautiful spaces for their clients.
Finally, interior designers have access to many resources that will make the entire design process go smoother. We are familiar with and will recommend reliable contractors, electricians, plumbers, etc. While hiring an interior designer is an important step, it is even more important that you trust your designer. We can see the big picture and have the overall design in mind through every little detail. Designers think both creatively and spatially, so we can provide you with the finished project you deserve.
Designers should go to market no matter how often their reps come to visit! Goodness!!! The inspiration is on point and the experience is second to none. I made a deep effort to focus on parts and pieces for my clients’ spaces and to gain design inspiration from my favorite showrooms. I truly feel this is important to do, not only for one’s clients, but to renew one’s love for the art and science of interior design. In turn, this will make you the best designer you can be for yourself and your clients, and will create credibility with other designers, colleagues, and the design industry. We are a very unique and blessed group of people who have the coolest careers that allows us to be creative, work with people, and enhance the world with our God-given talents.
If you are a designer…make it happen. If you are a client…please thank your designer for putting in extra hours to contribute to their education and to enhance their inspiration bank. They are doing it for you and let me tell ya…it is hard work but absolutely wonderful and fun and exciting…I could go on and on…
Here I sit, currently pen and paper – later to be typed and uploaded – considering a starting message for the beginning of my blog series. How do you begin to describe a career that encompasses something you’ve been blessed to love to do, blessed with the talent to do it, blessed with family and friends who support it, and blessed with the actual opportunity to do it?
I enjoy my job so much. Being a designer, I get to work with God’s perfect creation and because He blessed me with everything mentioned above, I get to sort of co-design with Him. That is what leaves me in wonder every day.
With that in mind, I close in saying thank you to all of our clients and fans. We’ve only just begun…stay tuned…
Love what you do…do what you love.
Thank God for your gifts and passion for your job.
