Meet the Design Team
Owner, Interior Designer Laura Ruth Edge was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky. She graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. After fulfilling an internship with Hubbuch & Co. in 2006, she started her own company in October of 2008. She has received several years’ experience in the field, passed the NCIDQ exam in 2009, received her certification in 2014, and completes 12 hours of continuing education each year to maintain her certified status as well as to stay current on codes, products, practices, and trends in order to enhance the client’s experience.
Interior Designer Larissa Priar is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky. She graduated in May 2016 from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree Interior Design and a minor in Fashion Merchandising. She started as an intern with L. Ruth Interior Design in 2011. Larissa began her full-time career as an interior designer with L. Ruth Interior Design in June 2016.
Interior Designer Malyn Howard graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design in December 2018. She started as an intern at L. Ruth Interior Design in the summer of 2018 and came on board full time in January of 2019. She has always been interested in design and is so excited to be pursuing that passion.
Administrative Assistant Tina Hires was born and raised in Daviess County, Kentucky and is a graduate of Daviess County High School. In addition to her love of her job and coworkers, she has a passion for crafting. She is in charge of all things administrative and has been since August of 2015. When you call or visit the office her smiling face and friendly personality will be the first thing you encounter here at L. Ruth Interior Design.
Office Manager Suzanne Caudill is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky. After earning a degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky, she worked in both public and private accounting. Her and her husband, have raised three children, and she currently is enjoying managing the office for our design team.
Bookkeeper Michelle Hoover is a graduate of Daviess County High School, class of 1990. She is a retired hairdresser of 15 years. She loves crafting, horseback riding and her family. Michelle keeps a full house with five daughters and two stepdaughters. She has been a part of the L. Ruth Interior Design family since 2018.
Marketing Manager Madeleine Edge is a graduate from Owensboro Catholic High School, class of 2016, and will be graduating from the University of Kentucky in May 2020 with a degree in Marketing, International Business, and French. Since 2016, she has managed all things marketing for L. Ruth Interior Design including social media, website updates, merchandise design, writing and editing publications, and building the design portfolio.
Office Assistant Judy Shelton graduated from St. Romuale High School and attended Brescia University for two years. She worked at Green River Steel for 23 years and got married during that time. After that, she worked at Audubon Area Community Services for 18 years. Now, she is a friendly face around the L. Ruth office and has been since 2014.
Operations Assistant Anne Jones is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky and a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School, class of 1988. She earned a degree in Business Administration from Belmont Abbey College. Now she is married with three crazy kids and has been managing all of the operations in the L. Ruth office since 2009.
Project Assistant Christy Hayden helps with many of our installations. When your project is almost completed, she helps the teams with hanging pictures, organizing objects and accessorizing the final touches. She has had a love for interior design for as long as she can remember and truly enjoys working at L. Ruth. Christy has a great appreciation for the new ideas and designs that are unique to each project.
